The Wake Up Global Summit 18′

Over the last few days, my heart has been feeling so heavy. I am sure many of you reading this are feeling the same after hearing and following the story of the Humboldt Bronco’s hockey team’s bus accident. It has devastated our entire country (I am referring to Canada), if you are reading from elsewhere.

It is so painful to watch so many people hurting and confused and so many lives completely shattered in just moments. The common questions I keep hearing people ask is Why? Boy, do I remember those days. The days of asking why? Why Nick? Why me? Why us? It takes a long time to stop asking that question but eventually you do. It takes a lot of time and a lot of hard work but eventually you stop. Eventually, you realize that so many bad things happen to people, death is inevitable, and tragedy does not discriminate; it happens to everyone at some point, and all we can do is stand together when it does.

Unfortunately it is not up to us to know why.

So what can we do?

I have been trying to figure that out for a long time, but one thing I discovered very early on is that sharing your story and helping to build up others is the greatest medicine. It heals you in a way that provides you with a sense of purpose. Maybe I was given this story because the Universe knew I would share it. Maybe I was chosen to show others that we can stand tall after being knocked down hard. Maybe it is my life’s mission to provide hope even in the midst of tragedy.

I have been trying my best to do this right from the start of my grief journey by sharing the good the bad and the ugly, and I have been truly blessed to have connected with some incredibly inspiring humans because of it.

On April 16th, 2018, I get to be a part of an online summit called The Wake Up Global Summit, hosted by the lovely Amy Walker. Amy happens to be one of those inspiring people I have just mentioned.

I am not going to lie, I was terrified to do an online video interview. I am self conscious of my chubby pregnant face and my awkward laugh but at the end of the day; how could I say no?

The whole purpose of this summit is to inspire those who want to wake up and live the life they want. It is to remind people that YOU can live the life you have always dreamed of and that YOU can experience triumph from tragedy.

Please check out the links below to register and to follow the summit. I will be sharing each interview on my social media along with my own, and I for one can’t wait to hear from the others who have been interviewed by Amy. There is nothing that can build you up more than to see others thriving.

Sometimes we look at others success and victory and feel jealous (this is a very normal human response by the way), but I have learned over the years that by shifting your feelings from jealousy to inspiration, you will learn to grow by watching others grow.

Don’t say, “I wish I could be like them,” say, “I am going to work as hard as them.” That mind shift will change your life.

Amy’s words:

“I’m exceptionally motivated to help women wake up to a life well lived. Too many of us go through life, reaching the end and looking back thinking ‘what if I’d done that? If I had my time again, I would’ …. etc. It’s my mission to wake women up to their lives now, not tomorrow and motivate them to live them to their greatest potential.”
